Top four classic cars

For many people, owning a classic car can bring a huge sense of fulfilment. Whether it’s the pleasure of opening up the engine on a country lane, polishing the body work on your days off, or getting together with other enthusiasts at events, there’s a lot of enjoyment to be had in the world of classic cars.

Every classic car enthusiast has their favourite vehicle, but there are a number of classics which whet everybody’s palate. Here, we take a look at some of the most universally lauded classic cars of all time.

Jaguar E-Type

Jaguar’s E-Type was first seen in the 1960s, and it was suitably revolutionary for the time. Enzo Ferrari himself determined the E-Type to be the most beautiful car in existence, and he’s certainly not alone in holding that opinion.

Jaguar-E-Type

The small cabin which sits at the back of the vehicle, behind a long and lustrous bonnet, set a trend for sports cars of the era. The good news is that this is such a well-loved vehicle that almost every one of the on the market is in near mint condition.

Mini Cooper

The Mini Cooper is another British classic which reared its head in the 1960s and came to be a defining feature of the decade. That’s about all the car has in common with Jaguar’s E-Type, however.

The Mini Cooper may have been fun to drive, but it was never considered a sports car. The good news here is that car insurance companies will offer different rates for insuring different cars so if you invest in one of these beauties then you don’t have to spend a fortune keeping it on the road.

Aston Martin DB5

Aston Martin’s DB5 is arguably the coolest vehicle the company ever produced. If the body itself isn’t enough to sell you on the unique beauty of the car, James Bond’s endorsement of the DB5 is sure to push you over the edge and send you head over heels in love with Aston Martin. This is a car which must be owned in silver, or not at all.

Alfa Romeo Spider

It wasn’t only the UK that was producing beautiful sports cars in the 1960s. Italy was also well known for exporting a large number of soon-to-be classic cars. The Alfa Romeo Spider has proved to be one of the most iconic of all Italian sports cars.

Today, it is a good deal more affordable than an Aston Martin, but equally as stylish as any of the above.
